Amputation Reconstruction
Osseointegration – Osseointegration is bone ingrowth into a metal implant. An artificial metal implant is surgically and permanently integrated into the bone. The bone then grows into and around the implant. Osseointegration is for amputee patients who have not tolerated or do not want to use a socket. It is a major advance in amputation surgery for both the lower and upper extremities.
